Parcely.app creates a product named “Delivery” to your Shopify store. App uses this product and its variants to create shipping selection in cart view and to ask shipping fees from customers. Because of this shipping fees are included in Shopify reports as product purchases.

You do not have to worry about Shopify product variant limit (100 variants per product), because each variant represents only one delivery service provider or specific service providers way of delivery. We are fully aware in Parcely that we can not add more than 100 service providers. Please make sure app installment generated all needed fields and data for Delivery Product. This Delivery Product should not be updated, edited or deleted

  1. Create a new collection and make it hidden on all sales channels.
  2. Add “Delivery” product to hidden collection.
  3. Make sure the “Delivery” itself is VISIBLE, but the COLLECTION is HIDDEN.”

You should create a new collection for all your products instead of using Shopify default “all products” collection view in your heather main menu. Shopify default “all products” view gathers all products, including Parcely “delivery2 product and shows them to customers.

Step 1 Create a new collection and add all (besides “delivery”) products into it.

Step 2 Add this collection to your main menu. You can do it under Online store/Navigation/Main menu.

Shopify suggests products on the product page based on sales results.  Your “delivery” product will be most probably one of the hit products as its always both with every order were pick-up point is used.

You should enhance suggestion functionality to endure Parcely product not to appear in product suggestions. If you are not selling thousands of products then we would suggest a simple app that allows you to manually add all suggestions for each product. By adding suggestions manually you can also make suggested products become more logical for customers. There are many app’s in Shopify app store which offer even free plans. We have priviously used Globo for example.

Please delete “delivery product” after you have removed our app. You can keep it if you plan to install Parcely app later again. But do not worry if you have deleted delivery product and decided to use our app again then a new delivery product will be generated automatically with app installment.

For the application to work properly, you need to change the store shipping settings. Go to Settings, click on Shipping and choose Manage rates.

You should add different weight-based shipping rates under each country where you are planning to ship with Parcely app.  To do so click on “Add rate” button and add free shipping with weight from 1000 kg to 1500kg. If you would that your customers would see only shipping option what they already selected in cart view then add different weight rates for each shipping option which you are using.

PS: don’t forget to change Parcely “Delivery” product variation product weights to match your shipping zone rate weights.

By default, Parcely widget in the cart page is situated above the checkout button and if it ok for you then you don’t have to make any changes.

But if you wish to customize widget position, you need to go to” Online store”. Next , go “Current Theme => Actions => Edit code”. Further you need update cart template by adding following HTML tag <div id=”parcelyWidget”></div> to the place in code where you would to show Parcely widget in your online store.

Write us an email to support@parcely.app if need further help. We can also make this change for you. 🙂

PS: You cannot place delivery selection widget to checkout view. Shopify restricts these kinds of checkout changes for all other plans besides Shopify+

In some of the cases shop users will pass through Cart view before Parcely widget is loaded. Shopify is always loading all external elements. We recommend using the following script to hide the Checkout button in the cart view to restrict users to move to the next step before Parcely widget has loaded.

Place this script in the same cart template file where you placed “parcelyWidget”. Let us know if you need help with doing it.

Remember that your Shopify template might be a little bit different and following code example might not work for you. Please consult with your developer.

PS: you can try following examples also with other and custom themes.

Shopify DEBUT  template example:

<script>
//added by Parcely app
setTimeout(function(){
//get all submit buttons in 0,2sec
var submitButtons = document.querySelectorAll(‘input[type=submit]’);
//Will hide all submit type buttons
submitButtons.forEach(function(button) {
button.style.display = “none”;
});
setTimeout(function(){
submitButtons.forEach(function(button) {
button.style.display = “inline-block”;
});
//wait 2000ms (2sec) and show buttons
}, 2000);
}, 200);
//added by Parcely app
</script>

Shopify BROOKLYN template example:

 <script>
//added by Parcely app
setTimeout(function(){
//get all submit buttons in 0,2sec
var submitButtons = document.querySelectorAll(‘input[type=submit], button[type=submit]’);
//Will hide all submit type buttons
submitButtons.forEach(function(button) {
button.style.display = ‘none’;
});
setTimeout(function(){
submitButtons.forEach(function(button) {
button.style.display = ‘inline-block’;
});
//wait 2000ms (2sec) and show buttons
}, 2000);
}, 200);
//added by Parcely app
</script>

Yes, it is. BUT we would recommend asking help from Shopify expert or your developer if you are not one yourself.

Depending on your template you should make needed CSS changes theme.scss.liquid or styles.scss.liquid or other files.

Here an example of changes made to Brooklyn theme files. As Brooklyn is using theme.scss.liquid file then the following changes were made to it.

/*================ Parcely app ================*/

[class=”prs-cart__delivery-item active”] {
border: 3px solid #000000 !important;
background-color: #fc0;
color: black;
}

[class=”prs-cart__delivery-item  active”] {
border: 3px solid #000000 !important;
background-color: #fc0;
color: black;

}

[class=”prs-cart__delivery-item “] {
border-color: #fff9f9 !important;
background-color: #fff9f9;
color: black;

}

[class=”prs-cart__delivery-item”] {
border-color: #fff9f9 !important;
background-color: #fff9f9;
color: black;

}
[class=”prs-cart__banner-item active”] {
border: 3px solid #000000 !important;
background-color: #fc0;
color: black;

}

[class=”prs-cart__banner-item”] {
border-color: #fff9f9 !important;
background-color: #fff9f9;
color: black;
}

[class=”prs-cart__radios”] {
border-color: #fff9f9 !important;
background-color: #fff9f9;
color: black;
}

You should hide “Buy now” button because it leads customers directly to checkout without passing through cart view were Parcely shipping selection is located first.

Don’t forget to save it in the end. 😉

Remove buy now button

Even though every Shopify template is a little bit different then most of them have a possibility to switch between cart views. We recommend to use “Page” type of a cart view because it has enough room for Parcely shipping selection widget.

For example, with Brooklyn theme you can change cart view like this.

Ask help from your template provider if you can’t find how to switch between views yourself.

Yes you can, even though we don’t recomend it, because Parcely app widget might be too large for drawer-type cart view.

Some Shopify templates do not allow scrolling in drawer-type cart views. To allow scrolling you need to go to Online store . Next , go “”Current Theme => Actions => Edit code”. Look for theme.scss.liquid under Assets. Search for drawer__inner and allow scrolling by adding “/*” and “*/” like on following picture. (exact location to allow and disallow scrolling might vary from template to template.

Write us an email to support@parcely.app if need further help. We can also make this change for you. 🙂
